Conferences, symposia and lectures

The European Institute Emmanuel Levinas offers seminars and conferences for a wider audience in France and abroad, focusing on themes linking the diversity of Judaism to contemporary social issues.

With this offer, the European Institute Emmanuel Levinas tries to respond affirmatively to the question posed by the great Jewish Italian historian of Jewish antiquity, Arnaldo Momigliano:

“Today the most serious problem of Judaism is its function in modern civilization! If indeed it has one, and assuming that it does, what can it be? “

In partnership with higher educational and cultural institutions, the European Institute Emmanuel Levinas offers each year the opportunity to hear a panel of highly qualified lecturers (philosophers, artists, professionals …), that give new understandings and perspectives to contemporary cultural and social issues.
